Serious Business

One of Oliver's favorite Christmas presents is an exersaucer. Well, that's what you might call it, but when we plunk him in the middle of this plastic ring of excitement, it looks more like a command center. After lifting him in and out for the fifth time and finally getting him settled where there is one leg, not two, in each leg opening of the seat, he goes bonkers. The pig goes in his mouth. Then the sheep. Then the sheep and the pig. Then the cow gets bent so far that you'd think it would snap off. Ollie then gets so excited that he throws his little arms up in the air and precariously does little falls back and forth in his colorful little throne. He goes at this control station with such seriousness and fervor that one would think that he's releasing the launch code for some missle attack miles away.

Anybody remember "Inspector Gadget"? His archnemesis was Dr. Claw. He sat at his command center in front of all kinds of lights and buttons, but you never saw his face. Just the back of his head, and his hands at the controls.

Hey, I'm just sayin.' The kid bears some close watching.
