Michael is often labeling some of my off-beat music picks as "hippie" and claims not to like them. Recently, though, I have turned him on to Foster the People, one of my new all-time favorite albums.
Someone else likes it, too.
In fact, when Oliver heard "Pumped Up Kicks" that night during the living room dance party, he told us, "I looooove this song. Favorite!"
Yep, the kid has excellent taste. And for those of you who are familiar with this lil' ditty, you can wipe that appalled look off of your face and rest assured that we have changed the lyrics, so that it goes a little something like this:
"All the other kids with their pumped up kicks better run, better run, outrun my bubble-gum,
All the other kids with their pumped up kicks better run, better run, faster than my brother."
Hey, if you were subject to listening to Elmo singing about the potty during all waking hours, you'd get creative too.
